FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT (Nov. 16th, 2009),

In the spirit of celebration and as an invitation, I'm announcing the
upcoming beginnings of a Restorative Families Network (RĂ©seau de
familles restauratrices).

After Dom's workshop in Toronto (June 2009), I was mulling and mulling
over HOW TO BRING THIS CLOSER TO HOME? How to integrate this as my
conflict-living reality? And so it popped in my mind to setup this
kind of network.

THIS IS THE FIRST INVITATION OUT, coming to you from myself, Gina,
Shulamit, Lucie Larose and Louise Glegg. The bunch of us have gathered
a few times around different topics lately and this idea seems
exciting to most!

So the basic idea, so far, is this: to develop a network of people
ready to facilitate or co-facilitate circles we could hold for each
other and our respective families. We want to do this in person and so
we want to create a relatively local network. We are thinking that
over time, network members who have participated in circles may get
training to become facilitators if they feel so inclined. And so, with
more and more facilitators available, the network could extend beyond
currently defined family structures and encompass ever wider circles
of community.

People who attended different trainings in Montreal, Ottawa and
Toronto will be specifically emailed in order to be invited to our
first planned meeting, to take place March 28th and 29th, in either
Ottawa or Kingston (Shula is looking into finding a place). BTW This
is not a mistake - the meeting is planned over a Sunday and a Monday,
as these are the times available to me and others.

Rough agenda for the 2 days: Day 1 logistics of how this could work,
Day 2 trust-building for facilitators, by co-facilitating
semi-simulated circles together in order to have a chance to be with
one another in such a delicate and delicious space.

Who might consider attending this meeting? Anyone who's done RC basics
training and is interested in setting up such a system, either in
their role as facilitator, co-facilitator or organizer. People
interested in facilitating for the network, please plan to stay on the
Monday!

We are hoping to be able to launch this rapidly after our meeting. We
will post our steps of development on this list and hopefully it will
inspire others to start their own local network.

In gratitude for Life, for Dom and his process, for friends wanting to
play Conflict with me, for Conflict itself (that I may use every
opportunity to be ever more alive)!!!
